.: Versione italiana Nati nel lontano 2004, tra i banchi di scuola, i mArASmA sono oggi una realtà estremamente variopinta, dove le contaminazioni sono così presenti, che quasi non esiste un genere predominante. Questo elemento rende la band estremamente versatile, adatta ad intrattenere qualsiasi pubblico ed a cavalcare qualsiasi palco, senza però perdere identità o rinunciare a muoversi insieme da grande famiglia. La band ha un CD ed un EP all'attivo e svariati concorsi alle spalle, con numerose vittorie (il Tour Music Fest, per citarne uno, porta il gruppo di fronte a grandi nomi nel mondo della musica italiana, come Mogol, Masciarelli, Fasano, Steiner, Buonvino...), accompagnate da un gran numero di gigs (che portano a condividere il palco anche con nomi come Roy Paci, Rio, Andrea Rivera...). Il gruppo ha inoltre intrapreso, nel corso degli anni, un progetto di vera e propria restaurazione di gloriose opere del passato: note che hanno fatto muovere le gambe 40 anni prima, fuse alla caratteristica adrenalina coinvolgente e divertente, tornano a farsi piacevolmente sentire all'interno di parecchi contesti musicali del sud-Italia. Le sembianze della band non sono mai le stesse: i vari cambi di line-up vedono una risposta a livello musicale altrettanto varia, sempre ricca di nuovi risvolti. Si fanno sentire a gran voce gli studi jazz e fusion portati avanti da vari componenti (fenomeno che porta all'integrazione, all'interno del repertorio, di alcuni standard jazz - che consentono una maggiore espressività nei soli - oltre che di numerosi brani ska-jazz), insieme ad una forte pulsione verso il dub ed una esplosiva miscela di ritmi in levare, sonorità dolci e calde, distorti grezzi e corposi, idee ricercate, studiate nel dettaglio. Una scelta molto felice è, poi, quella di condividere il palco con alcuni esponenti della scena hip hop lucana: "accomunati da un accordo di funk, è comunella tra la gente dell'hip-hop e quelli dello ska" recita "Meltin' Pot", uno dei pezzi scritti assieme. Questa collaborazione porta il gruppo ad approfondire suoni propri del funky, nonché a rendere il progetto molto più aperto alla contaminazione, per trasformarsi, a volte, quasi in una jam band. Questo è il marchio di qualità dei mArASmA attuali: fuggire la ridondanza e la banalità attraverso la varietà di generi, idee, sperimentazioni, suoni e componenti. .:English version Born in 2004, between the classroom, "mArASmA" is now a very colorful band, in where the contamination is so present, that there isn't a predominant genre. This element makes the band extremely versatile, suitable for any audience and able to ride any stage, without losing identity or abandoning the idea to move together as a great family. The band has a CD and an EP on the assets and various contests behind, with various victories (the Tour Music Fest, to mention one of them, brings the band in front of great fellows in the world of Italian music, such as Mogol, Masciarelli, Fasano, Steiner, Buonvino...). The band also makes a large number of gigs (which bring to share the stage with names like Roy Paci, Rio, Andrea Rivera ...). The band has also carried on over the years a project of rearrangement of some glorious works of the past: notes that made the legs moving 40 years ago, together with the characteristic funny adrenaline, become a pleasant hearing once again within several contexts of South-Italy. The characteristics of the band are never the same: the various changes of line-up reflect also in the music, taking everyday some new implications. The fusion and jazz studies made by various components make themselves to be heard (a phenomenon that leads to integration in the repertoire of some jazz standards - enabling greater expressiveness - as well as numerous ska-jazz tracks), together with a strong drive towards dub and an explosive mixture of upbeat rythms, sweet and warm sounds with rough and distorted ones, particular ideas, everything studied in details. Another very happy choice, then, is to share the stage with some members of the lucanian hip hop scene: "united by an agreement of funk, it's common cause between the people of hip-hop and ska" says "Meltin' Pot", one of the songs written together. This collaboration brings the band to deepen funky sounds, and to make the project much more open to contamination, to become, sometimes, almost a jam band. This is the mark of quality of the current mArASmAs: escaping redundancy and banality in the variety of genres, ideas, experiments, sounds and people.
